Argentinean DJ and producer Martin Barbaresi aka Martinoresi marks his Piston Recordings debut with the impressive three track ep titled Jamrock. Martin has taken the decks all over his home country and he has seen a plethora of releases on several labels from around the world. With a passion for delivering energy to the crowds, Martin is a fresh up and coming artist with a lot to offer, definitely one to watch.
Jamrock dishes out a smooth deep house vibe courtesy of a tight drum arrangement filled with crispy hi hats and a nice punchy kick drum alongside a warm, probing bassline. Late-night chords do the rounds and, on the break, we find brighter, more melodic phrases that add a dynamic to the sound. A must have, no doubt.
Trebol carries a much funkier vibe with short, sharp notes coming through alongside interesting arpeggiated percussions. Tight beats and rhythmic percs drive the groove, getting feet on the floors where a sub level bass will ensure you stay there for the duration. Top notch stuff that will not disappoint.
Sodio rounds up this superb EP with a lively flourish of deep house goodness. Chunky kick drums and shuffling percussions generate a gentle flowing rhythm which weaves effortlessly through the groove. Quirky synths add a surreal element as a chugging bassline shifts the body with its infectious draw. Full of atmosphere and charm, this one is not to be missed.
